For the horsemen who have prepared their mounts to advance past the hackamore and snaffle and into a bit we offer several nice styles. We have two basic types of bit design - solid jawed and loose jawed.

Solid jawed bits, often referred to as curb bits, are true to their name with no movement at the junction of the mouthpiece and the cheek pieces. These are good all around bits for most horsemen's needs.

For the horse that is a little further along in his training you might choose a loose jawed bit. Just as the name implies, these bits have a certain looseness built into the joint and are many times referred to as bridle bits. Many feel these bits allow for a more subtle connection between horse and rider. All our loose jawed bits have a square clevis type joint which limits this movement and prevents pinching your horse's mouth.

Gene's bits are blued steel with sweet iron mouthpieces and all feature his fine sterling silver hand engraving. We have no doubt you'll appreciate the artistry and workmanship that goes into each one.
